Through Assistance, Customs Encourages Export Potential of Damar, Honey, Crackers and Cigarettes

Jakarta, Having the function of industrial assistance and trade facilitators, Customs and Excise continues to strive to encourage the progress of the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector to improve the regional economy. This time Customs and Excise is providing assistance to MSMEs and companies, including in Ambon, Riau, Kediri and Tarakan.

In Ambon, Ambon Customs and Excise received a visit from PT Parsho Ketut and a forwarder from Surabaya regarding their readiness to export damar commodities directly from Ambon, Monday (11/10). This visit was a follow-up to the previous meeting on Wednesday (08/09) which was carried out further.

Head of Customs Communication and Publication Sub-Directorate, Tubagus Firman, said that during this visit PT Parsho Ketut revealed that the export readiness and plan for loading goods were carried out on Thursday (14/10).

“Damar will be loaded using local containers with a total of 15 tons to Bangladesh. With careful preparation, it is hoped that the initial export of damar from Ambon can be carried out properly and will open opportunities for other commodities to be exported directly from Maluku,” he continued.

In Riau, together with the Village Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) of the Siak Regency Government, the Riau Customs and Excise Regional Office visited local honey entrepreneurs in Siak Regency who have the potential to export to Germany. Even though they don’t have a trademark yet and are still packaged in jerry cans, the honey produced so far has been exported but through Medan.
